Another question worth pondering...

What would've happened if GOP controlled both chambers and the election hinged on one state? They would've stolen the election. American democracy could've been over, and perhaps will be if this situation presents itself in the future.

Harvard has already done studies showing america is an oligarchy, democracy ended decades ago.
But yeah its fact that trump would steal the election if he could.

He committed treason starting from the day he claimed without evidence that there was widespread voter fraud

Questions like this are a distraction. What he did was worthy of impeachment and removal. That's all that matters.

But Susan Collins thinks there was wrongdoing, but he totally learned his lesson! There's no reason for removal!

No, he isn't committing treason. It's more like light-sedition.

Well that's not good if that turns out to be true.

On paper, yes he could be impeached. In practice? "Just another perfect phonecall."

In practice there's many factors and outputs making impeachment BAD / GOOD for democrats OR republicans.

It could unite republican party (against trump) which is bad for democrats, on the other hand they could grab few points in polls but no major elections in planned in next months.
Nothing serious will be said until Georgia elections are done.
