This is just the tip of the iceberg. The rumors are that your every motion is tracked while working in an amazon warehouse, and that a bunch of employees piss their pants because there isnt enough time for bathroom breaks.

The workers should unionize too and put bezos in his place.

bots are not supposed to piss.

Acquaintance works in Amazon corporate. They had him work in the warehouse for a week or so to see what it's like and gain perspective. His feedback was that concerns are overblown, it's not bad and the workers have plenty of time to get to where the computer tells them to go unless they're completely obese.

Great perspective.

I have to imagine you have zero friends and your dick probably hasn't been touched in years.

When I think of you the first image that pops up in my head is George Papadopoulos. I assume that's what you look like but with dryer skin on your forehead

When I think of you, I imagine a rich, aryan, 6' tall CHAD who is a great, generous friend. Whenever you enter a room, the entire area lights up with happiness and laughter. Not only are you rich, but you make women wet simply by your presence.

True story.

Amazon Web Services is also a big evil IMO. They typically cost more than other hosting and service providers, and now they are polluting the job market with 'Amazon XYZ Certification' requirements on job applications which is a HUGE slap in the face to any ABET accredited professional. Corporations love paying the AWS fees though, they just bleed out money to Bezos.

Then when the US gov awards a 'cloud' contract to someone other than Amazon, they cry foul.

private/hybrid cloud setup will always be cheaper than the public cloud. Amazon/Microsoft/Google don't want to be the walmart of infrastructure.

He couldn't patent the design?

People will criticize capitalists calling capitalism bad, but its more nuanced than that and a matter of function vs dysfunction.

Agreed. All Amazon is doing is streamling the process of market competition. If someone else can find a cheaper way to get a functional product to market, they were going to win.

Obviously it is bad that there is one megacorp doing it with all the products. Amazon needs to get deeds'd. But, in a vacuum, this practice of copy/undercut isn't inherently a problem (if it was being done by anyone who isn't a problematic corp.

I also agree i think people are afraid of the power that the corporations accumulate. IF it was some average Joe doing it, no one bats and eye. On the upside the consumer enjoys a cheaper product that takes less time to arrive to their door.
There is nothing wrong with having companies striving to do things better, cheaper, faster (as long as its within the bounds of the law) otherwise we would still be herding goats in yurts.
