It's more about confidence in the ruling. The innocence project has shown that a significant percentage of people on death row are innocent. In principal, if we know beyond any shadow of a doubt that the person committed some heinous crime like murdered a whole family in cold blood then I don't have an issue. The problem is that's just not how the law is applied in our country.
That may be true, but in many places, including homes, things like cameras exist. And like has already been stated, if youre white, you can conduct mass shootings and murder children with no fear of death yourself.
Many of those people on death row have also been there since before the widespread use of dna evidence. So pppfft.
