Yeah, because right wing channels are far more promoted than left wing ones, and that's apparent from the subscriber numbers, youtube recommendation trends, etc. etc.

There's dozens of videos where people "go down the YouTube rabbit hole" where people make a new account under a VPN and click videos to see how easy it is to get to the right wing conspiracy part of YouTube. It's really obvious how much YouTube promoted this stuff until they were actively called out for it.

I'm super left, as you know, and even I have to actively avoid YouTube's algorithm recommending me right wing content. For some reason just yesterday I had like 5 Rubin Report videos in my feed, a channel I've never interacted with and actively avoid because of how incredibly stupid Dave Rubin is.

It's made by a leftist YouTube channel that is virtually never monetized, and virtually never recommended. In addition, it was shadow banned for several days, so it didn't show up in searches even with the exact video title and channel name, and didn't even show up for subscribers for a while.

This is why I don't take conservative takes on conspiracy theories seriously. I follow half a dozen leftist YouTube channels that are virtually never recommended by the YouTube algorithm. Like, I'll listen to a playlist of theirs for an hour at work three days a week, and despite this I go to a new video I'm never automatically redirected to their videos as a recommendation. Meanwhile other less controversial channels I follow will be recommended 50 times despite the fact that I never listen to that channels videos more than once, and if I'm not careful I'll even get my feed actively redirected towards right wing sources. In my personal experience, YouTube actively redirects users away from left wing sources, and actively encourages right wing engagement.

So I don't take claims that the right is censored seriously at all, because I know for a fact that there is more censorship against the left and the right is actively promoted.
