Trump couldn’t have handled covid any worse than he did

Leading an anti-mask anti-science movement is really beyond the pale of anything I ever expected from a setting president. He does all the stuff that is so beneath the office sure, but the anti-mask thing during a pandemic is a really special kind of malevolence.

Anyone would and can...if you work your way up.

edit: not starting out but over time ofc

Anybody can beat cancer too. Doesn't mean it's fine if everybody has cancer.

Jobs that have advancement opportunity are quite difficult to find nowadays, and there certainly aren't enough for everybody qualified for them, even in skilled professions.

Maybe he would have had a chance if he had actually done his job and tried to save American lives during covid.

It was better than Europe and Better than Biden's handling of H1N1.

People who say this dont actually know any of the numbers.

Phil Murphy and Andrew Cuomo were responsible for 100k covid deaths with bad nursing home policy. Without those, we would be one of the best in the world.

Other than that, were doing fine. Cases are rising but excess mortality is low and overall mortality has dropped by like a third even with higher numbers of cases.

I think less about if Covid hadn't hit at all and instead think about if Trump had taken a scientifically-informed approach rooted in strong leadership in response to Covid. If he had, I think he would have won this election. Covid became one of many pain points for Republicans where they had to come with the terms of their ideology v. the candidate. I've met many Republicans who, due to the 2-party system, feel really torn this election. They recognize the Right/Left divide, but they just cannot get behind Trump. I think even among many Trump supporters there's a sentiment that he's...unconventional, to say the least, and not in the "He's not like politicians!" kind of way.

Trump made the mistake of politicizing Covid-19 when it should've been an apolitical issue in the first place. The Rose Garden Superspreader and Trump getting Covid himself was a bad look.

if he sold cloth trump 2020 masks on his campaign site he would crushed all opposition and probably fundraising records too

an unforced error for sure

It was political because the public widely disagreed based on state.

Trump recovered in three days with no lasting symptoms.

Please explain the entire nursing home scandal as you understand it because it is clear that you don't understand it at all. Would love to try to figure out where your misunderstanding is coming from.

Is that really the best response you can give to try to show that there was no failure in his leadership? Did anyone MAKE me leave my house? No. But did I have a personal and professional obligation to take care of patients who were sick, yes. And there were a lot more sick people than there should have been because the president kept saying stupid shit.
