It depends on the situation. Some large industries use unfair methods to screw over workers. So long as the union membership is not mandatory i support them in private industries.
Honestly I think we should get rid of all right to work laws and minimum wage laws.
Both serve the same purpose, to get between the workers and their employers and tell them what terms aren't acceptable.
If a union wants to negotiate with a business so that the business can only hire from the union, then that's their right. If they have that much loyalty from their members they should absolutely be able to do that. Similarly, if somebody wants to work for 3$/hour they should be able to do that as well, provided the business hasn't agreed to not signed a contract with somebody else that says they aren't allowed to do that.
If we want a true free market that means total freedom for unions to negotiate with businesses, and no government oversight on things like wages and worker protections. Republicans tend to only want the second half without acknowledging the first half.
