I've become more liberal. Being disabled for a good chunk of time helped with that and made me grateful for the social programs we have. If I didnt have the family I have I would've been totally fucked and have empathy for those who don't. People bitch about taxes but I don't mind paying them, but fuck corporate welfare. Capitalism is a great invention when allowed to function properly. Fortunately I am doing the best in life I ever have been.

/e also my industry experience in automating people away has pushed me to the left as well

What happened to you?

Well I guess that is what happened with me. I always thought the left, we were the side of logic and reason. But now they just scream and yell buzzwords and won't have a debate.
They are not even in favor of free speech. Such as in college shouting down any lecturer. Pulling the fire alarm to shut down a speaker.. Labeling people as "alt right" who are centrists like jordan peterson. Cheering for people to get banned off youtube and social media for having right wing views. Etc.

Like on Reddit people used to debate there all the time. It was mostly a libertarian forum. But now they just ban people who are not left leaning and its become an echo chamber

So you're focusing on the most ridiculous leftists instead of dealing with the serious ones who put forth rational arguments?

Growing up in the country my defaults have been conservative, but even a small amount of investigating has almost always turned me more liberal on every issue.

my views have hardly changed at all. if anything i'm a classic liberal. However, the "left wing" has become so radicalized in the past 5 years that I've been rejected by my own parties

That's why those dastardly socialists chose Joe Biden to represent them.

I don't like going into detail about my disability but I was hospitalized for 5 months, fully recovered.

Settled into my current views probably around 21-24. Prior to that I would say I was too dumb and immature to have solidified views--like most really.

Far left views about how the world is unfair and we need a revolution and other dumb shit like that are essentially people not fully developed yet. It's similar to a 14 year old girl crying about how the world is unfair that her dad won't let her past out 9pm.

Far-right views about racial purity/racism etc are also dumb and dying out. The latter of these two honestly is much less prevalent though, at least publicly.

I dont know if anyone here remembers me but I used to post on this board a ton back in 2008/2009.
I was a far-left socialist/communist and I argued against right wingers all the time (Such as WidoWMaker_MK)

Anyways people told me "When you grow up more, you'll become more right wing" and I thought that was bullshit. But you were all totally right and I am now a far-right nationalist.
So I want to apologize to all the people I argued against here when I was a punk kid.

edit: Also I used to be an atheist and posted a lot in those type of threads but I'm a Christian now.

I was more or less the same. Obama 2008, RonPaul 2012, Trump 2016, Kanyeezy 2020.

And throwing your hands up in the air saying nothing can be done and burying your head in the sand about trying to make life a little more equitable is even more immature.

Used to be far left growing up. Looked at the hillbillies around me and thought surely these people voting republican aren't right. Moved farther to the right as years went on. Then Trump happened and now I spend most of my time supporting the left, denouncing Trump and bringing to light the many, many retards in the GOP.

Democrats are pussies and probably wouldn't have me so Independent now. Libertarians are also pussies.
