Am I having a fever dream?

Nah. Shareholders in the biggest companies pervert capitalism to extreme lengths. Anti-trust laws need to be strengthened probably.

You can see this in a lot of cases. Start up companies tend to have great culture. Then they get bought out by satan and it gets turned into a shithole.

Pretty good montage.

I'm in the process of looking for my first post MBA job. So far i'm still like 8 months out and can afford to be selective but yeah it's pretty crazy the level of experience employers expect.

I have an interview next week. I know the offer is probably going to be like high 40s maybe low 50s and i'm going to be like it's a no for me dawg.

I thought american salaries were considerably higher
What position is this for?

G'luck with your interview!

Thx mate but that job I don't really want it, I'm honestly doing it as practice and curious what the offer would be.

This is the type of job I want. Rubbing shoulders with some people in private equity and tbh this is very lucrative.

Depends where you live. A 50k salary in my city is like a 80-90k salary in NYC

Good that you can be picky. Not everybody has that luxury.

It's also pretty much expected that your first job post-degree is a 6 month stint while you look for something you actually want to do lol, so don't worry about having a 6 month jump on your resume, hell you can even just leave it blank.

Got to get those college internships. I worked through college (summers only) and had a nice ~2-3 year looking line on my resume.

For the most part, though, the experience lines are being used to circumvent age discrimination laws.

My career growth has been fortunate, I started out of college as a shitty chemist making $22/HR then became a supervisor making mid 50's, then an engineer at upper 70s and now I am an ops manager making 100k+.

/e forgot to add I live in a very low cost of living area.

I've only worked at non-profits, and the most I've ever made at a job thus far is $15/hour. Lowest was ~$6.50/hour!

Not a lot of money to be made in social services job. RIP

Makes much more sense in that context, I'd imagine cost of living is quite nice in your area?
