You should be fighting hard for a socialist system..

i'm up for the debate of a m4a plan in some sorts for "legal U.S. citizens". i am not up for the debate of a "socialist system" in general though.
idealy, the less that is controlled by the federal branch, the better. i'd rather see something done through states individually.

So a mismatched hodgepodge of individual corruption with big pharma donations calling the shots? Sounds... good.

Personally I stay out of these debates because I already live in a country with socialized healthcare.

At the end of the day I'll give only this 1 point : Americans are too fat for UHC to work heh.

On the contrary. We're fat because we don't have UHC.

In a country where the government foots the bill for healthcare subsidies that make corn syrup dirt cheap would never fly. We are fat because we subsidize corn and by extension corn syrup out the ass, and so it's in everything.

Are you really free if you aren't billed 8 grand for an ambulance?

if states do not want to opt in to a healthcare plan, they should not be forced to.
if these decisions are focused on a more local level and people truly want their states to opt in for full-state-citizenship healthcare.... they can vote on a more local level of their preference.
instead everyone looks to 2 people who want to be president every 4 years, every hot topic of debate is thrown onto only 2 people. even if you were for m4a from one candidate, you have to overlook numerous things you wouldn't vote for. because everything is being thrown to the federal government.
this makes it difficult to hold people at a local level accountable for their actions because they just say the federal government didn't do enough for them. they don't even need to promise to do anything.

How disappointing. Canada is supposed to show us how cucked our system is, but now that you've said this I had to Google how much y'all pay for ambulance rides. Seems like cost is less than $100 on average.

That's chump change over here. Let us know when you hit 3 or 4 digits.

$100 for an ambulance ride? That's less than it would probably cost to take a taxi to the hospital!

for just the ambulance ride or all of the relevant medical costs for your visit?

it's funny that you gotta pay for the ambulance ride here, but Search and Rescue is free (Although plenty of misinformation exists suggesting SaR costs money so again people hesitate or don't call)
