I love gentrification. I wish there was more of it instead of crime infested trashy neighborhoods run into the ground by democrats.
Cleaning up and investing in neighborhoods shouldn't be demonized.

The toxicity on this issue comes from Leftists' dual obsessions with anti-capitalism and race hustling.

Except the thing that separates gentrification from building up a community is that it displaces the people who were there.

You guys are equivocating making organic and real improvements to a community with replacing the community. The former is great, the latter is gentrification.

I live in an area that had real improvements made and as a result the people living here were also the ones living here in the 70's before the laws making it illegal to live any further south were repealed. It is real improvement and the people who lived here then are the same ones that live here now. This is not a case of gentrification. If the people had been rapidly priced out of the area and the neighborhood was now all white, that would have been gentrification.

1. Don’t take a mortgage you can’t afford because you’d be dropped from that neighborhood anyway because you can’t afford the mortgage.

2. Think about inflation and what it will do to your property taxes due each year when purchasing a home.

3. If you rent, sign a lease like an adult and don’t rent someone’s illegal unit. Leases have renewal clauses and there may be rent control laws for legitimate units.

4. Understand supply, demand, and capitalistic economies which is the foundation of some countries.

I don’t see why people are caught off guard when it comes to gentrification, especially when you’ve been in your house for 50+ years but have 25 years left on your third mortgage. Like seriously. I had a neighbor that sold her house for 550k and made $16k off of it because of the mortgages she took out on it. She was in that house for 40+ years and only $20k equity paid into it? House was probably bought for less than $60k-$80k that long ago

Gentrified areas are often empty, which is why they're shit.

Yup. Just kept refinancing, refinancing, and refinancing with a little equity removal here and there. Really sad people dont educate themselves on these types of things :/

I wish i could help people like this but my guidance has never been as attractive as the money that gets dangled before their eyes and at some point you just stop caring

Our blacks are better than theirs.

They gentrify themselves.
