if you can't beat your own kids then what's the point of having them?

there are kids who dgaf about that.
Power of an empty stomach works infinitely better, or turning off wifi, or just power of words if you know how to use them, disappointmet is usually a byproduct of failed parenting and might only be reserved for certain cultures.

I remember one time I messed up in 7th grade

was first time we had any real grades and I was new to the concept of midterms. was jackingoff in several classes not doing shit really and had been broadcasting to my dad yaya school is going good etc. Little did I know we had to get our midterm grades signed by parents. I was so full of shame I faked the signature. of course got busted. that night I did not go hungry. my parents were divorced so that night I was just with my dad. we had already planned on getting Chinese food and he picked it up on way home from work. I used to put sweet and sour sauce on my rice. the only thing my dad said to my that night was when he passed me little plastic sweet and sour sauce container and said "save some for your brother." I felt like total shit, I was so nauseated I thought I was going to vomit after every bite.

lmao I'm still haunted by this

when kids grow up, they will become exposed to situations where physical violence is a possibility.

What is the best way to prepare kids to understand what that means and be able to take care of themselves? The football team only lets a few kids on.

You gotta be full spectrum with your upbringing. Favor positive reinforcement as it works the best, but don't forget about your physical tools. Raising a child is a combination of education and management. Pick the right tool for the right situation, and prepare your child so you don't have to always 'manage'.

Not sure what the Japanese do, but there kids are quite as fuck on the trains. US kids so fucking loud, and parents even worse. We have a big problem with Hockey families invading our bars and bringing all the kids in as well. Young kids fighting in a bar while their parents Drank. Usually ends with physical approach.
