request and fill out an absentee ballot well in advance if you are incapable of being there to vote in person. i’ve done it before for several elections at multiple govt levels, took less than 5 mins total each time. military gets the privilege of voting absentee/by mail

Let's be perfectly clear here. This is absolutely legal. No court in the land will be able to touch this. It is specifically enshrined in the constitution that states have the right to conduct their elections in the way they see fit.

So let's discuss what I see as Trump's only real path to victory right now. Suppress the vote.

Currently there is no evidence that mail-in votes are susceptible to fraud. However, Trump has continually railed against it as a method of voting, saying it will be overly fraudulent.

According to new polling data 76% of respondents who said they were going to vote by mail were going to vote for Biden, and 65% of people who said they would vote in-person said they would vote for Trump.

So it's clear that Trump has an incentive to stop mail-in votes.

Now add to the fact that he's been intentionally slowing down the mail system through the new Postmaster General he appointed in May, Louis DeJoy (a huge Trump campaign donor and owner of millions of dollars of stock in the post-office's competitors) and I see a path to Trump's victory in 2020. (We can talk about the intentional sabotaging of the post-office that's been happening for a decade now later. It's really frustrating when you learn they easily kick UPS and Fedex's ass until congress handicapped them, despite having to have more offices and deliver to every address)

Simply put if Covid convinces enough Democrats to stay home, if his efforts to sabotage the post-office and disenfranchise mail-in voting is significant, and Trump's rhetoric about the virus being a hoax and mail-in voting being fraudulent energize enough Republicans, he may turn out enough to win.
