military payout is odd, as well as farmer stimulus.
farming especially, given that it's never shut down and social distancing is easily done so they dont require many changes. that and in a food shortage futures on all crops/livestock was already up.
stim check, meh, ok ill take it.
as to liability, i dont like that morally, but legally it would be a nightmare for courts to settle as many disputes as people would raise. only people who win there are the lawyers, as not many cases would win.
overall tho, just another band aid fix with a not so bright future with regards to cases. all heading into election time.
never did i think i'd see the day when a president would end around the CDC, whether you think this is foul play by POTUS or the CDC doesn't matter. we're in some bleak times.
I believe military is so they can spend to increase safety on the bases.
I don't understand farms either.
Liability cases would all get thrown out unless there's gross negligence on the part of the employer, so I don't necessarily think it's gonna be an issue going forward. Most will not get filed and the ones that do will likely get thrown out as frivolous before getting close to trial. My mother's work was going to try to make them pay 1$/day for masks after getting a 100k loan from the first stimulus. That shit got shut down real fast when she called the owner and said she would be consulting with a lawyer.
I don't think this stimulus will do much for the economy. I think any stimulus should include student loan deferment since that's basically a cost-free way to increase economic activity. Yes, I do personally benefit from it, but still.
