I agree that it sounds a lot like mental illness.

But let's not kid ourselves: if the ethnicities were reversed, this would be all over the national media and no one would consider "it's not racism, it's mental illness" to be a valid excuse. The news cycles would be full of headlines along the lines of "This is Trump's America - a racist terror state".

Its a matter of owning your mentally ill. Extremist ideologies and mental illness are intertwined, its how you get people like the Pizzagate Comet Ping Pong crusader or Antifa's suicide attack on ICE and Dayton mass shooter or the MAGA van bomber or the other various mass shooters. As a rule, domestic terrorism isnt perpetrated by well adjusted reasonable people.

If this was a white Trump supporter killing a mexican guy and saying Trump told him to do it, the national media would plaster him on every monitor and TV for the next 4 months

Oh yeah definitely signs of psychosis. Still a murder. These people are everywhere and dozens of people have at some point probably informed him he wasn't being poisoned, there isn't a parasite in his body, there isn't a chip implanted transmittimg voices, his parents aren't dopplegangers, that one race is superior to another, or what have you.

If someone chooses not to be well and they hurt someone because of it, like this, there is no reason for leniency as someone who works through these. What agency he had he used to kill someone.




Pizzagate guy was considered mentally ill though and wasn't plastered in every screen for four months after acting on mental illness and encouraged by Q Anon.

This has actually happened in the opposite direction and it came and went in news cycle.

Pizzagate didnt occur close to a big election though. And pizzagate was just so absurd that it was really hard to deny the "he's insane"-defense. And no one was actually killed because of pizzagate.
So yes, if the roles in this case right here were the other way round, with a white guy murdering a hispanic and claiming that Trump told him so, this would be huge and the top story on the media from now until election day.
