Have you stepped back and wondered how a news outlet can "confirm" a story about a claim from unknown intelligence sources, given by an anonymous source?
Either the intelligence community believes this, or they don't. Even if they could have documentation, or video, or whatever of it, the intel agencies would have to vet whether that material is real or fake.
So if the intel agencies actually did brief Trump yesterday and tell him that they believe this is bogus, then the NYT story is fake news.

Do you think the NYT sent out their own spies to infiltrate the Russian government and wiretap Vladimir Putin's phone to figure out if this was real or not?
Be real, their source is one person making this claim to them. The other outlets that "confirmed" it, spoke to that same source. If that source is wrong, if he's peddling bogus claims, then the story would still be fake.

Right now you're claiming that Trump baldly lied both when he insisted he was never briefed, and again when he said he was briefed and the intel agencies insisted it was bogus. Those are pretty easily disprovable claims if they are lies and his story would have no chance of holding up. Do you think he'd tell such fallible lies? Its far more likely that he's telling the truth and this story is baloney.
