I've never seen a president divide the American people like he has.
Trump only became president because the American people were already divided like never before.
His political ascent came on the heels of hyperpolarization, he has always thrived on chaos and division. It's only logical that he's trying to sow those very things.
It's of course pathetic and dangerous and a really bad thing, don't get me wrong, I don't condone his divisive approach and how he doesn't even try to bring the country together, particulary during testing times like these.
It's still important to point out that only a marginal amount of the division we see today was instigated by Trump - most of it was already there before him and, more importantly, will persist even after he leaves office.
Those believing that everything will be back to sunshine and rainbows once the big bad orange dragon is slain are in for a rude awakening.
