This only effects California? Anyone still living in that liberal shithole deserves it.

Been there multiple times for work. Northern is alright. So-Cal is a shithole.

vote no, but "safe storage" made me feel all fuzzy. Is that like mandatory gun safe in a home?

Not only that, but police can roll up on your crib unannounced, any time they want to, to inspect your home to ensure compliance.

Already did it in my country, no schools getting shot up here.

We had a bunch of mass shootings before we banned them.

No, you had few before, and few after. Your ban took about 20% of the guns in your country off the streets.

I'm mostly neutral on guns/2nd amendment and this is probably a hard pass for me.

People just need to give up. The 2nd amendment is mostly viewed with as much validity as the 1st in the US and even younger generations still support it.

People just need to be pragmatic and maybe instead just focus programs that foster a culture of gun safety and responsibility and create less depression and lower risks factors that contribute to suicide and also improve the lives of poor/working class americans so they can raise their kids in more stable environments so you have less sociopath/psychopathic mass shooters and less crime.

There's over 350 million guns in the US. It's just not going to happen. Mass Shootings are mostly a post modern phenomenon that was sparked by columbine and the massive media hysteria that now goes with them.

If we truly want to stop mass shootings, white people have to start raising their kids better and society needs to somehow find a way to prevent social isolation occurring in so many young men cause it's the chief cause.

Lol, it took almost ALL the guns off the streets, most of the semi automatics, most guns are now on farms in gun safes.

You took in about 650K guns. There are over 3 million guns still in circulation.

Even if this bill did become law, how long would it last until the Supreme Court strikes it down? Perhaps 2-4 weeks?

Also... can this be passed with a simple majority in the House, or does it require a supermajority?

Similar story in New Zealand, where the government issued a mandatory gun buyback in the aftermath of the Christchurch shooting, and it fell completely flat, it was a total dud.

Again we banned SEMI AUTOMATICS.
Those 3 million guns are almost all bolt action rifles or single load shotguns.
And again there are very few guns on the street, most of them are on farms in gun safes.
To own a gun in australia you need to be a licenced member of a shooting club or own rural land of a certain size.
