If only the protestors had guns, so many lives would have been saved that day and on many others.

Just google the plethora of evidence on the subject that demonstrably shows more guns present leads to lower crime.

My AR-15 is only thing standing between home and an army of reptillian redcoats. Between home and the government's army of fighter jets, destroyers and nuclear weapons.

God Bless America. Amen.

unironically

In an unironic manner; without irony.

Seen as ironic on 2 fronts by a colonial. First, that a redcoat laments our being armed, and second that you don't see the deterrent to being fired on when the victims are prepared to fire back.

Don't be so naive. Students firing at police would result in death by bullet or death by the chair.

Guns won't save you from air attacks or nuclear weapons which the government has at their disposal, so the argument for protection against government tyranny doesn't make logical sense. It could help defend your family from home intruders in theory, but the stats show people mistake their family for robbers quite often and end up shooting them. But you already know all this. You have an ideological viewpoint that informs your political stance in spite of reason and evidence when you should be using reason and evidence to inform your political stance.

No pro gun people are like 'your dead kids don't trump my right to have guns' anymore. I respect that argument a lot more because it's honest and doesn't attempt to reason that guns protect and save people more than they cause harm.

Bunkerville and Malheur show that they're scared to do so, especially after Waco. Death by nuke doesn't make any logical sense. Like really, the US military is going to irradiate their own food supply?

/e your dead kids DON'T trump my rights.

If they're losing, sure why not. Did you see what happened to Gaddafi?

I wasn't even specifically referring to nukes. Civilians don't have any ships or aircraft either. Or anti-aircraft guns, missiles, or tanks. Technological advancement has depleted the power of civilians with guns to the point where it's meaningless to have one to fight against an advanced government, I'm afraid.

The real reason Americans like guns is because they are cool, and it reinforces an already existing patriotic exceptionalist culture. There's nothing wrong with that, I'd own a gun if I lived in America too...I'm critiquing your rationale for owning a gun and not the effervescent desire itself to own a gun.

Petrodollar hegemony ensure Gaddafi's death. Not citizens vs their oppressive government.

I suggest this podcast to disabuse you of those notions in bold: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-it-could-happen-here-30717896/

It's really rather enlightening, if even from an entertainment aspect.
