Rabies spreads from bat bites.
The theory for this one is that antigenic shift happened inside a Pangolin, but still how would a bat travel 1000 miles into a city?

The current theory is still highly suspect because weve only had a few months to collect data. It is not well substantiated that it went Pangolin -> bat -> human. Its only known that pangolins are a coinfected species.
It's bat > pangolin > human
Animals are alive and in contact, on market or any storage facility or why not, in a vehicle during a long and stressful travel.
Bats are holding the disease with some resistance, low transmissibility, stored in cage near pangolins which are finally catching the virus, but having less resistance the pangolins let the virus develop in much bigger quantities (getting really sick), enough to infect human.
