i like ricky gervais. his speech was hilarious and edgy, but tbf it's not like those actors are the ones making the decision to set up sweat shops in china. i loved tim apple, errr... tim cook's face though.
it was obvious that right wing snowflakes would love it, because most celebrities tend to speak out against conservative stances on topics like climate change, racism, voting rights, and immigration - but even with that in mind i had a good laugh, especially when you consider that they made a hyper opinionated b-list celebrity their president...
generally not a big fan of the 'shut up and dribble' angle, and i'm pretty sure that ricky gervais wouldn't pass that purity test himself, but again, he was putting on a show and being edgy, so it's all good imo.
He wasn't saying they set up the sweat shops. His point was they always lecture people on social and political issues yet work for and support companies that have the sweat shops. He wasn't saying shut up and dribble. Just don't be a hypocrite when preaching values and morals to the world while ignoring horrible issues because you profit off them.
He always makes very controversial jokes at these things though and he obviously did it for the laughs.
