the short answer is yes, it is a hashtag. AND yes, it is an organization. and no, they're not implicitly but somewhat tied to each other.

if we tracked #metoo allegations tho the path is somewhat clear. Weinstien and co rapes. >>> Weinstien and co assaults. >>> Weinstien and co predatory producer "casting couch" behavior >>> allegations of marital misconduct, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, etc >>> allegations of misconduct in the work place (think matt lauer) >>> and finally cases like Aziz ansari which basically equal "i had a bad date with them and want 15 mins of fame"

so we start with rape, but as the campfire consumes the wood pile people needed to start tossing on small wet branches they could find in the dark. the fire got smokey and burned lower, but still the coals burned on.

I'm just asking what instances make you see the scope as expanding. I only came to know the metoo movement as a thing for women to post who have experienced sexual harassment so everything to the left of and including Matt Lauer are, to me, part of the original scope.

that's where it gets complicated. #BLM has actual chapters, and while the internal organization is anything but coherent, it does have stated goals. #metoo is a far less organized body, and the closest thing they have to an organization is a group of celebrities who champion individual causes, Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, etc. the celebrities have mostly championed cases of rape, assault, and gross misconduct in relationships and the workplace. but the hashtag is far more varied. the only real outlier i can think of is the call to #cancelAzizAnsari, which rose in popularity then abruptly died once the actual story was known. but on social media from non celebs #metoo has been applied as far down as to cases of mansplaining or oogling women on the train.

in any case i'd say marital abuse of a semi popular author apply as a #metoo example, if not a weak and less than compelling example. given both the original and current scope.

So im guessing based on that line she's bi, or some nonbinary delegation herself.

in light of that she might be almost as oppressed, just not famous and with no fans to harass others for her.
