Goom is basically right... the nutty economic stuff isn't going to pass, but (particularly with Warren) the cultural SJW nonsense will be empowered and immigration enforcement might be gutted.

I can't believe I'm potentially going to have to vote for a woman who says she's going to wear a Planned Parenthood scarf to her inauguration. Still better than the Infowars President.

instead of supporting abortion wouldn't the morally correct thing to be not voting for either candidate?

Ultimately I think a second term of Trump is so harmful to our politics, our country, and the general populace that I think a vote for radical pro-abortion candidates like Warren is morally justified.

i think i see why the left side of the isle has been stating you've been growing lately.
it hasn't been growing towards center, that's for sure.

how someone who raises our economy from the grave is harmful to our country is beyond me.

You mean Obama? Because Trumps economy has followed the trends set under Obama with very minor deviation. Maybe it would be better but he shot himself in the foot with his tariffs.

Trump is not a good president, and isnt a responsible holder of power. I think you should be worried because whatever the next Democrat president does will look tame compared to Trump so you will have an even harder time resisting policy changes they implement.

I don't see dems taking the presidency in 2020, Trump has weathered their onslaught and still has around 40% approval rating. Economic models predict him winning 2020 too.

That being said, I enjoy Bernie out of the pack.

supporting abortion = supporting the status quo.

sometimes there's merit in leaving something that's no working perfectly.

i dont like abortion either, but i also dont like the consequences of attacking abortion. i still dont like abortion more, but it tempers my stance enough to stick with the status quo.

My fervent opposition to Trump has little to do with policy, so a left vs right framing doesn't make sense. I'd like to get back to a politics where there's two sides debating policy... not whether the latest Infowars conspiracy theory has merit or whether the president pressuring a foreign government to investigate his political opponent is fine.

mentioning the overton window though, it only makes sense that the "left" will show further left right now.
trump single-handedly pulled the republican party to a more leftish state than it was prior.

that parts definitely on point
I mean yeah, the republican party used to be too far right during the evangelical death grip and followed up with the tea party. The party that was once vehemently anti-gay is now pro-gay marriage but not in favor of sex reassignment surgery for 8 year olds. They support legal immigrants but not illegal immigrants. They support Catholics and Hindus and Sikhs and Jews and atheists alike but eye Muslims warily. Back a decade or two or three ago I would have considered this the sane middle ground between the wingnuts like Michele Bachmann and the communist wackjobs who held no power. Aaron Sorkin wrote his West Wing pol-fantasy about having a centrist Republican like that some day. Its only natural that when the GOP shifted left, the Overton window shifted with them. We wouldn't have headlines about "Trump misgenders Chelsea Manning" in 1999, jesus christ.
