you are delusional. we WANT you to take care of yourself, wipe your own ass, etc.

you are delusional if you think the american empire's military operations are a net benefit for europeans / the world / american citizens.
i know that's what your military industrial complex' propaganda tells you, in order to justify the ridiculous amounts of money you spend on your military each year, but you'd have to be a brainwashed fool to uncritically accept that.

Why should the US spend billions on protecting Europe when Europe won't spend billions to protect itself? Only Estonia, Greece, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and the UK currently spend 2% of GDP on defence. The states closest to Russia under threat of invasion are being abandoned.

we don't have an empire. Germany did and it started WWI. they were defeated. next came a German reich (well the 3rd one, so said your ancestor joseph and that fella adolf) and it started another military conflict called WWII. it was defeated again

NATO should be phased out. the threat of russian aggression was always overstated but now doesnt even reflect reality.

So you'd be in favor of making the 2% a hard fee?

Are you sure you want Germany's defense spending up to 2%? They'd be right behind USA and China.

Europe (and I don't say the EU purposely), needs to start acting like one country, sort of.
I don't know how the EU will accomplish this, but it needs to be done. IF, for example, China decided to make a run on Europe... 20-some countries with different militarys, etc., would be fairly easy for China to overrun.

I think we are entering the age of super powers. The middle east (although they continually fight among themselves), do, through their religion, function as a unit, pretty much. China functions as a unit through govt. The US functions as a unit through govt, and the curious relationship of states and federal.

I said before, back when brexit vote occurred, that the EU needed to adopt a system more like the US... states/federal, but in the EU it would need to be countries/federal. Something like... The United Countries of Europe, under one over reaching govt. of w/e type, so long as they could function as a unit, when the need arose.

I think this is more or less what Macron is talking about. Treaties like NATO for example, can not be enforced. They are just promises. The EU needs something more binding, so it CAN act as a unit when necessary.

P.S. the US has no designs on Europe. IMO, the US wants Europe to function more as a single entity, for Europe's own good.
