republicans will pretend to be open to arguments and facts, then they will claim it's just politically motivated, they will discredit and smear the witnesses and complain and lie about the legality of the process, they will do their best to avoid the substance of the allegations - and in the end, senate republicans will unanimously vote against impeachment, no matter how damning the evidence of what trump already publicly admitted is.

it's a predictable and disgusting little show. trump is guilty as a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo, everybody knows it, and still he will get away with it - those are some great 'checks and balances' you have right there...

There's no amount of corroborating evidence/testimony that will distract cultists from the whistle blower. They don't care about what Trump did, they just want another target to distract with, because so far the people who have come forward served honorably for decades as diplomats or got blown up as a soldier in Iraq, and they don't make good punching bags.

I was actually pretty furious over some pundits smearing Vindman. As someone who is married to a Russian Jew, the entire family is VERY pro-American. People who left those countries actually appreciate the freedom because they know what it's like not to have it.
