They make safe choices out of self interest and ignore the consequences on others. I wouldn't say that they are “sociopaths” thats a bit extreme.

There's a link to a study showing massively higher rates of sociopathy among boomers also.

boomers are mostly harmless whiners. the only place they make any real progress is at the ballot box.

My own take is that boomers are just now starting to see a new generation with a loud voice coming into play.

X-ers were just shafted in general and too jaded to deal with the boomer's bullshit, millenials are slowly starting to get into powerful places. I'm curious to see if there will be an ideological shift.

these are solid assessments. like any generation most are fine, just the loudest and most obnoxious and most disruptive (for better or worse) get the most attention. it definitely is seen (and accurately so) as a much more greed-driven generation (due to economic circumstances that frequently benefited them for the better part of nearly 3 decades)

George Carlin's take on boomers being the 'gimme that it's mine' generation is reasonably accurate

Not many Gen Xers. Millenials are as numerous as the Boomers and will be the next cohort to rule absolutely. Millenials are way more collaborative as well....all that infrastructure the Boomers made for them to make parenting easier that the latch key kids of Generation X did not have...afterschool programs, headstart, all the extra cirriculars.

The criticism of boomers always comes back to the fact that they didn't tax and spend more. Generally I think people who criticize previous generations are whiners who don't fully appreciate the progress that has been made.
