Their case was lucky because a student identified as neither male nor female. That may have averted the crisis in their case, but it doesn't seem to address the main debate in the country.

Some people want there to be a room that is penis-free i.e. no one with a Y chromosome can enter that room.

The addition of a gender neutral bathroom doesn't preclude someone with a penis from identifying as a girl and wanting to enter the girl's bathroom. That is the real issue, isn't it?
