These companies should be broken down just on their data collection alone.

Donald Trump proposed this recently and his supporters were very in favor of it.

Let’s see if they swap sides now because they have no intellectual consistency, just cult-like adherence to “opposing the other side.”

Not sure how it could end up if Amazon, Google, Facebook etc ... decide to strongly ally together at some point. They could fund to a new company, maybe they already did or are discussing about it.

Ms Warren said: “Today’s big tech companies have too much power — too much power over our economy, our society, and our democracy. They’ve bulldozed competition, used our private information for profit, and tilted the playing field against everyone else. And in the process, they have hurt small businesses and stifled innovation.”
She added: “That’s why my administration will make big, structural changes to the tech sector to promote more competition — including breaking up Amazon, Facebook, and Google.”

I'm more likely to support this position, even if a "break up" is not reached it's a good start to negotiate some regulations, taxes, or slowing down the tracking.

It's easy to say "you can use another product/website", but what if these actually sucks or are limited because of the giants, today or tomorrow.

this is how free enterprise system works. this dumb twat has probably used these services as long as they have been around. I guess every politician is a hypocrite at some point in their career. Every consumer out there has a choice of whether or not to use a service. Fact of the matter is Amazon has great customer service and retrun policies same as walmart. Everyone should be relieved knowing she will never be elected. Damn demonrats.

All Warren has to do is start insulting the darkies and she'll take Trump's populist base away from him.

It's almost like there's dozens of other issues with various levels of priority for voters, so even if they agree with 2 or 3 out of 20 issues with a candidate they still vote for the other candidate that they agree with 5-6 issues which have a higher priority weight.

and obviously that logic could never apply to the other side.

I'm still not sold on the idea of breaking up these companies. Until we get a handle on our merger regulation it won't do anything to prevent it from happening again in a relatively short time frame.
