the individuals who push for socializing everything tend to deny the math for the election and basic science so i’ll reserve judgement

they cant even get their numbers right. first they say (1:10) that its $26-30 per vial in canada vs $340 in america. then they say (1:30) that they spent $1000 on 25 vials, which is $40 per vial, but that it would have been over $11,000 in america, which is $440 per vial. at least they could have gotten the numbers right before throwing together this propaganda piece. do you really want to elect a president who cant do basic math?

nevermind ignoring basic economics. the cost of producing a product is not just the cost of the raw materials, the few dollars he says it costs them, it also includes the cost of research to develop that product and other overhead that he fails to take into account. granted, theyre still making a nice profit on it, but so what? theyre entitled to. if they werent, they wouldnt be making it, and then ALL the people who need it would be screwed. but hey, lets pull on your heart strings a bit and play up the irrelevant fact that they need it to live. cuz feelings.

if its so cheap and easy to produce insulin and theres such a large market that would gladly pay a lower price in america, then why doesnt someone just make their own company and undercut the other companies here in america? theyd corner the market and put the other companies out of business. oh right, its not so simple...

You should look into the actual cost of drug development. R&D budgets are massively dwarfed by advertising budgets. It doesnt cost near what they want you to believe it does to develop drugs, especially if its insulin which has paid back its R&D cost a billion fucking times over at this point and is one of the most massively produced subatances on the planet. Oh, and the research for insulon was done on the public dime so that isnt even relevant to that particular case.

so again, why doesnt someone just sell it at a lower price in ameria and corner the market? clearly its not so simple. i would guess that a large factor is that theyre made in different plants in different locations with different regulations, and to meet the regulations required to sell it in america is a whole lot more costly to meet. i dont disagree per se with the basic premise of the video - the discrepancy in price is troubling. but im sure its a whole lot more complicated than "ZOMG evil greedy corporation hates americans but loves canadians." and FFS, get your damn math consistent.
