480,000+ deaths per year related to tobacco use.

But let's all lose our minds over a few vaping-related deaths.

worse yet. most if not all of these deadly products are Chinese illegal black market pot vape cartidges. so Trump can ban whatever he wants, it's already illegal.

instead he bans legal nicotine vaping which hasn't killed much of anyone from what ive seen, maybe zero.

Vaping is dumb, banning it is next level tarded though. Bet big pharma loving the attention re-direction.

First info I read was about him not banning e-smoking but banning all but tobacco flavor. Did that change?

Because imo the sweet flavors were for kids newly starting smoking anyways. ^

they're for all people who vape. basically no one wants the "tobacco flavored" version. who would want that over something like mint? very few people.

are they more catered to young people? sure. but so are sodas and many other products. they're still largely the choice of adults too.

I'm not saying it's the best solution for the problem, just one of the more simpler ones to legislate. If you look at the numbers you guys have a bit more of an rise in teen usage of e-sigs than we have. From that perspective I'd understand proposals like San Francisco had done in june. We've both seen a constant decline of young ppl smoking, if the e-sig is causing a steep rise for the % of teens smoking, we might want to rethink our current laws and/or try to demotivate its use in another way as well.

Vaping is to cause new addiction or be a tobacco alternative for those already addicted. With tobacco you can't get around knowing exactly what you're getting even with different flavors. It doesn't taste good or give a nice aftertaste.

Removing good flavoring from vapes makes it obvious what it is. Its a tool to feed nicotine addiction.

The 'killing people' shit isn't proven yet to my knowledge. Its possible any flavoring will cause long term illness, but this is still relatively new.

i haven't seen data that suggest cigarette smoking is on the rise, just nicotine usage. in which case i dont see it as a "problem" that needs any legislation from the govt. afaik cigarette smoking is still on the decline, if anything ecigs and their fruity flavors have helped people realize cigs taste like shit, make you smell like shit, and ruin your breathe/lungs/teeth/etc.

If anyone here want to bring argument against this ban:

https://www.drugabuse.gov/news-events/news-releases/2018/12/teens-using-vaping-devices-in-record-numbers
I read somewhere it jumped from 20 to 25% in 1 year for teens students - 2018 to 2019 -

I let you imagine in 5 years if nothing is done. Tomorrow a new synthetic drug can be created and spread, even by an hostile foreign power, and i let you imagine the issue.
LMK which alternative you have.
