I would love for it to take down both Trump and Hillary Clinton. I can't think of anything that would help this nation more. Everyone would have to shut up at that point, and if the parties are smart, they'll work together to take them down and then claim they were working together for the rule of law the whole time behind closed doors. Rule of law restored, swamp drained, establishment broken, citizens pacified.

I can't wait for this garbage to be over. It might take some cataclysmic event to get us over the hurdle but my eyes and ears are exhausted from hearing about this nonsense.

Sometimes i feel that this whole circus is just a smokescreen for people to focus on meanwhile real issues are ignored.

Just stop reading it all. Over a year of this shit and things are functionally about the same as they were then. Trying to ignore everything until Mueller finishes his investigation or Trump somehow fires him. Then I will wake up.

Releasing the memo could lead to releasing all of the underlying documents, or at least enough to potentially have something Mueller finds tasty.

in reality Hillary has a flock of scapegoats ready for slaughter and so does Trump. Could be enough to dirty either of their names politically, but legally i dont see anything coming out of this. Even the careless shit i've seen from the memo falls well short of "HRC and Obama had me on a conference call and said to do this" territory.

true, but there is a very real chance that the house flips at the midterms, and that mueller will yield a democrat-controlled house that's out for blood enough material to impeach trump. there's no way that the senate goes through with this and actually removes trump from office, but it would still be highly damaging politically.

therefore, trump and his allies are well-advised to start undermining mueller's credibility and providing any proof for democratic conspiracies and bias, so that their own base sticks with them even in the case of an impeachment.

but i heard in 2016 that this historic win was just the start of a 50+ year unopposed run for the GOP and that the mental disorder known as liberalism was a dying breed!

I agree, i think that we're looking at a base so energized that 2018 is going to be rough and 2020 might be worse for the GOP. While goomy runs around calling russia a nothingburger scare tactic the truth is it's hardened the base, could lead to an incredibly expensive impeachment preceding, and will likely cause our station in the world to diminish. In essence, while it's also likely true to an extent BUT friendly fire in effect, its potent ammo for the left come election time. Right winged narratives can be directly linked to a foreign government, and while those are just echos of the right itself its still a pretty damn good easy button for Dems.
