I'm not sure if the CIA created ISIS, but the US and its allies involvements in the Middle East in the early to mid 2000's certainly helped.
Simply put, we destabilized that region. We should have never gone. There was no evidence of WMDs (the UN didn't resolve it at least), and we also didn't seek resolution from the UN before invading Iraq.
It was war and conflict that costed our country trillions of dollars and thousands of Americans lives. Worse yet, it only made things worse in the Middle East by destroying their governments (albeit corrupt governments) and order, and now we are acting so surprised that these groups are forming over there.
Republicans are now again beating the war drums, saying we need to go over there to fix the Middle East again and help stabilize the region.
I say no. Let's not waste trillions of dollars again. Let's not waste thousands of American lives again. Let's stay involved in diplomatic efforts (Iran Deal), communicate with leadership, and utilize the UN to the best of our abilities, but please no more wars.
