An idiot wrote this puff piece. I don't know why anybody would think that the myths that are dispelled here are real to begin with.

11. Americans cannot handle criticism. Even if it comes from a fellow American.

Most of the article is a subjective overview of American culture, which i care little about.

There are some legitimate concerns however. Healthcare being one. Though the author gets a lot of the facts wrong, but health care and the health of Americans is probably the biggest challenge Americans face. But they choose to ignore it.

Not really ignore, we just have corrupt leaders who can't do the right thing.

Anyway me and my fam have good health care. Gonna need it too for personal reasons undisclosed.

No, I think it's collective ignorance and complacency. I think Americans have become too accustomed to their broken system and most are sheltered from the high costs thanks to subsidized employer insurance.

I think if Americans knew how mediocre and expensive their health care was they would make a bigger deal about it and force a change in government to do something about it. However, as it stands, simple apathy towards the issue won't get anything done.

I had surgery in Germany once and it was quite nice. It was a major surgery as well, and was very cheap overall.
