Quote (AEtheric @ 6 Oct 2012 00:55)
Crucifixus est Dei Filius, non pudet, quia pudendum est;
    et mortuus est Dei Filius, prorsus credibile est, quia ineptum est;
    et sepultus resurrexit, certum est, quia impossibile.
    — (De Carne Christi V, 4)

    "The Son of God was crucified: there is no shame, because it is shameful.
    And the Son of God died: it is wholly credible, because it is unsuitable.
    And, buried, He rose again: it is certain, because impossible."

- Tertullian

Ok maybe the guy who wrote this admited physical resurrection is not possible, but it is not so clear and you did not answer my second question :)

Ask yourself: Do I really need to get involved with what other people believe in when they feel it makes their lives better?

Like you really have a choice, all men have a God even if they refuse to call it one.

No, I don't need religion to survive. I want to live well though, and religion helps me do that.

When their beliefs is blind faith in myths/lies that are reducing my freedom, and that could start wars that would destroy mankind, the answer is YES, I will stand up for my rights.

The only god I have is Life, and no religion has such god yet, so I do not have a religion and do not need one... you did not answer the question anyway, I did NOT ask "Do you need a God to live"...

How does it reduce your freedom? Unless you are a Christian in Turkey or something.

And if you live in a developed country, how do you see religion cause a war that could destroy mankind? Where I live religion only plays a very small role these days.

Not as well as one could live with it. The reason is very obvious. God is much more powerful and capable of much more than any person on his/her own. So when you open yourself up to allow that Power to work through you, you experience a better quality of life than if you spent it blocking yourself off from God because your ego tells you that you don't need Him.

My parents never in any way tried to raise me with any religion, but I do see how it can improve people's lives, maybe(in theory) even mine. I have many Christian/Jewish/Muslim friends, so I really don't see why people here make such a big deal out of it, or are even against any form of religion..

Unless it's just in a way of trying to understand/learn of course.
