But he's right, we'll all end up in chains if those ideologues win.

I call bullshit.  I can't really take you seriously unless I've heard you apply the same standards to the Republican party's use of The Southern Strategy to win elections for the past 40 years.  And if you really have personal reasons to have your widdle feewings hurt from a little tough talk, you should be truly outraged and ready to give Republicans hell for voter suppression efforts in dozens of states targeting minority voters likely to vote Democratic, eh?

Yeah, I didn't think so....

...appeals to racial fears are not " a little tough talk " ; they are despicable manifestations of desperation and should be condemned by all people of conscience .

Widow, I'm willing to bet Biden had no racial implications in mind when he said that.

Maybe you're reading too much into it. I take "back in chains" as meaning eliminating freedoms.

"Back in chains" is a not so subtle reference to black slavery in the US.

And "take our country back" doesn't have racial undertones

If you're concerned about dirty politic I'm afraid it is going to get much worse down the road.

Me to. It is classism not racism :p

And the lower class will be in chains.

Or it's a reference to being chained up whether you're white, black, purple, or green. So if a candidate says "I'm going to put this nation back to work" is that a racial reference...or is it a reference to creating jobs?

...and he actually preceded the comment with a regional " y'all ' and to make matters worse he said it to a Virginia audience while thinking he was in North Carolina .

It only has racial undertones if you assume the opposition to Obama is due to the color of his skin, and not his terribad policies.
