Prices did slightly lower on things after covid, at least in my area. Not sure nationally, but a study came out recently that shows tariffs costs the average american like $1k. It would just depend on how greedy the capitalists are. Stop buying expensive shit and they'll come down.

Essentially. Guardrails, consumer protection agencies, etc. all need to not just be in place so gov't can say we have it, but actually functioning. There's a lot of money and influence that works to ensure all those things are not functioning or don't function in a meaningful way.

I agree, there are efforts now to deregulate things that direly need them. AI, social media, gambling ads, pharmaceuticals, food labels, etc just a few I can think of off the top of my head are being stripped of regulations in favor of higher profits.

This kind of greed is totally unnecessary. If we can pivot to something more oriented to mutual aid it would most definitely raise all boats. The problem is that people in power want a huge power gap to circle jerk each other off to (think of the scene in American Psycho where they're comparing their business card designs or which restaurants they get reservations at)

I recall reading something that described Amazon pretty much doing the same thing, but worse (better?)

Anyhoo I'm an aldis enjoyer, and soda drinkers should be added to 's list

Ya except that for the past 80 years the standard of living of basically every human being on the planet has been growing at a rate that would seem miraculous and impossible at any point before now.

People use faulty statistics to attack the system that ensures this progress. "The gap between the rich and the poor has never been greater" lol for all of human history the gap between the rich and the poor was that the rich ate what they wanted and the poor starved. Now we're upset that the rich have jets and spaceships, while failing to notice that we no longer starve.

The poorest people in my country have easy access to luxuries that the richest man in the world couldn't have dreamed at 50 years ago.

Life is pretty fuckin grand right now, entirely thanks to capitalism.

80 years ago, the Germans spearheaded the greatest technological advancements ever in centuries. This is the root of the quality of life increase - it would be much better if it wasn't presently being looted. Thank white people, not capitalists.

Lol German contribution to technological advancement is a drop in the ocean of America's contribution. This is not at all debatable but if you'd like to try I would love to have this conversation. I expect you to dodge defending your point as usual tho so don't feel bad about it.

Those same Germans also tried to conquer all of Europe and plunged the world into the darkest time in history, although I know you have some fantastical explanation where they were the good guys.

What? Essentially every single piece of modern technology, including modern medicine, was developed by the Germans. Chemistry is all literally German, if you had any scientific literacy. Germans are largely still the only ones conducting blue sky chemistry research.

But yes, also alot was developed in America. One of the greatest founders of modern chemistry, Gibbs, was American. But these were developed by.... fellow Germanic immigrants. Gibbs was Germanic white. Modern science and technology is almost entirely Germanic/Nordic.

The foundations for quantum physics were founded in Germany. Einstein developed his theories in Germany (which were developed on the back of Planck's work - a German) though he had some jewish DNA.

"Darkest time in history" was spearheading the 2nd enlightenment? Okay. Dark for jewish subversives keeping Europe and the world down maybe. They liberated Europe to the best of their ability. Germans won Europe in the end - the EU (Germany dominated) is the effective third Reich and unification of Europe under German leadership.

I believe in a free market with guardrails and our North American gaurdrails have been removed or are totally useless.

Well in USA, that market is not a free market and the guard rails are more like fences. The companies are not just in bed with each other, but congress aswell. Walmart is a crucial aspect of the story in your video, but they are mostly a company propagated by welfare programs, a subsidized 'government' entity. Perhaps their artificial pricing leverage would not exist if truly a free market where Walmart had to compete as an adult and not a subsidized cheat.

Personally, I don't think the food industry is all that concerning compared to the monster that is health care/insurance. USA is fat as hell, have about a year of fat surplus aggregate between our obese. Massive amounts of untapped agriculture commerical and local residential there as an upper bound.

Health care though, can get much worse even though it's arguably dollar for dollar awful and regulation seems useless. Can't grow the medicine, well not all of it at least.

Costco has 36 packs pepsi for about $15 :)

Pretending that WW2 was only dark for "jewish subversives" is possibly the dumbest thing I've seen you say yet, you keep outdoing yourself. Something like 70 million people died as a direct result of what you are calling the 2nd enlightenment, most of them civilians.

Hey you may actually be right in the narrow field of quantum mechanics, which hasn't done anything at all to improve the standard of living of anyone at all, which is what we were talking about.

In support of your theory--Max Born, like Planck, was German... but he was also Jewish. It seems there's a pattern here but not the one you are advocating. Nazism actually attempted to prevent Born from working on quantum mechanics, but he went to England and kept up the work which would eventually win him a nobel prize in that field.

Max Planck literally told Hitler that expelling Jews would kill German science.
