Those experts were complete moronswho where compromised

Debatable, although we can agree that those experts globally did not do a great job in the pandemic. Sadly "whatever Trump feels should be true" is an even worse approach.

The syrian reset is in full effect, with Trump meeting and shaking hands with Ahmed al-Sharaa, who until December had a $10 million bounty on his head as an Al Qaeda linked terrorist on our kill list
This is probably the right direction for the moment even if the long term is unpredictable, given its certainly better than a return to chaos and HTS is holding back the genocidal sentiment. But boy oh boy did we somehow manage to make our already schizophrenic policy in Syria somehow even more schizophrenic. Lets remember.

We recognized an independent Syria in 1943, then we tried to overthrow al-Quwatli with a failed CIA coup in 1957, except then even after the democratic coup in 1961 the CIA supported the Ba'athist coup in 1963 that brought Assad to power, except we severed relations again after the Six-Day War in 1967 but we thawed relations under Nixon and Carter but then became hostile to them again under Reagan but allied with them for Bush's Gulf War and continued the thaw with Clinton and then Baby Bush went hostile to them again and Obama finally intervened in the Arab Spring to directly try to overthrow Assad except then we did a 180 still under Obama and supported Al Qaeda and the Kurds to fight Assad's enemies in ISIS and then supported Turkey to crush the Kurds and then under Biden we supported Al Qaeda to overthrow Assad again and now under Trump we're supporting Al Qaeda to hold back ISIS remnants from massacring Assad's supporters and jesus christ the amount of whiplash in this run on sentence is insane

Let's preface that we all can agree that less war is a net positive for everybody.

1. As you pointed out Modi said US was not involved in mediating, so hard to call this a US win.

2. That seems largely independent of the US. Unless you want to give Trump props for sacrificing your Kurdish allies back in the first term, which .. I personally wouldn't since i found it disgusting politically but what do I know.

3. The trade war Trunp initiated with no reason came to a temporary hold - selling this as a "Trump win" seems demented to me.

4. No clue about Syria tbh, good if there can be peace. Did Syria promise Trump something personally in return? This is usually why he lifts sanctions in my experience.

5. This is the big one, and we see very slow progress - which might be better than nothing at least. Remember Trump promised an end of the war day 1 of his presidency? That clearly did not happen, did it. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch, but if Trump or his project 2025 minions can negotiate a peace deal that Ukraine wants I am all for it.

No progress in 5, trade war with EU initiated, I guess that was shortlived.
