Boring and full of beurocracy where out tax dollars get to be spent on luxury hotels for cartels and illegal invaders or billions on many other things that have very little to do with our country or people's needs.

I think as agitating as Trump can be it's a necessary spectacle. As it highlights and uncovers swamp creatures that have been leeching off our hard work for decades possibly centuries.
We need transparency and accountability on all aspects of government audit everyone Republicans and democrats alike. But especially the military and the federal reserve.

We are getting scammed by the people who are supposed to serve us.

The hysterics that stem from deporting illegals have 0 thought process behind them because every president has deported them but they just weren't boasting about it. It's like people didn't know that presidents deport illegal immigrants until they saw the MSM talk about it...

People should demand a higher standard from their news. Did everybody forget that news should be neutral? Journalism is supposed to be neutral. This goes for both sides.

I am neutral, but a lot of people have went full mental retardation after orange man appeared. Idk if it has something to do with asylums closing down, but would be hard to link as they started closing down in the 1950s. Then again, a lot of these people are old so could be some that were released from these asylums. Look at riots here and it's a bunch of old white folk, probably has to do with loneliness and using these protests (riots) as social events.

edit: mental retardation is not appropriate here, it's more like hysterical

glad you cleared that up might have got a few folks here panties all in a knot.

It's very very simple

People going crazy about him was simply a consequence of directed propaganda against him. Because he was the only person who challenged the 1 party state

Media I think, as in access to it and psychology behind getting people to click articles.

There's some proverb about bad news traveling fast but good news not.

Man I'm dumb it's just litterly bad news travels fast. Feel like I'm thinking of another one though.

You're not dumb, even if we don't always agree you made a valid point.

And I'll add, News travels incredibly faster post 2016.
More people connected to the internet during covid19, all hooked into the 24/7 media machine.

lol even back then CNN just couldn't help themselves. The common sense people interviewed would be called racist today.

Was it always "my team vs their team" kind of cancer or were people more civilized? Do we have any boomers up in here who glanced at politics?

i dont have any memories of the left and right hating each other.
things got a lot weirder after the trump win. it seemingly broke a lot of people.
what i think a lot of people forget is voting for trump also meant rejecting both democrat and republicans. perhaps both parties being butthurt at rejection at least in part caused it?
here is a vid to consider. perhaps several factors came together at the same time?

There was only one establishment group, or the "uni-party" that put on a theater of adversarial politics.

An entrenched uniparty rule with neoliberals and neoconservatives mostly in lockstep and every other ideology being merely performative. Remember Futurama aired in 1999 with the joke of John Jackson vs Jack Johnson criticizing each other's 3 cent titanium tax
There was always petty bickering and faux outrage and morality crusaders, politicians cynically riding cultural fads for their own gain. But having their positions made too secure within the uniparty created unhealthy uncompetitive conditions. If they don't need to listen to their voters, don't need to fight for their seats, don't need to adapt to popular causes it led them towards being more of the teapot dome era of fatcat aristocrats deciding the country's policies in smoke filled rooms. And of course, all the opportunities for blatant corruption. They could just get away with it, because they had each other's backs. You can see how Joe Biden was old enough to hail from that era, no need to compromise, no need to find common ground with opponents, no need to weigh the pros, cons and ethics of actions before taking them.

look to europe where you can have a dozen parties represented but they're all in lockstep on their EU agenda with a socialist state tempered by minor degrees of austerity, absolutely intolerant of any opposition. Its a pretty trite observation, but competitive forces are what evolve a society towards progress, while stale and idle societies become decadent and decayed
