Hamas is more legitimate and less of a terrorist organization than the IDF. So at least there's that.

Really take a moment to think of the sheer terrorism the IDF has committed: the power, destruction and inhumanity. Hamas at the very least is a resistance group with no options. The IDF are literal Nazis.

Neither Hamas nor the IDF are terrorist organizations. Hamas is the legitimate, democratically elected government of Gaza. Hamas have declared total war on Israel. Hamas has the overwhelming majority support of the people of Gaza. In fact, Hamas has such overwhelming support that the Palestinian Authority no longer allows elections in the West Bank, because Hamas would become the legitimate government there as well.

The IDF is not a terrorist organization. They are the military arm of the legitimate government of Israel, who are currently decimating Gaza, a nation who's government declared total war against them.

The reason nations declare the legitimate government of a foreign nation "terrorists", such as Hamas, or the Taliban, is so that the President/PM/whatever of those nations can go to war without a formal declaration of war from the Congress/Parliament.

if you say israel/idf is callous with respect to their complete disregard to the number of palestinian lives lost or displaced in their campaign against hamas, i'd agree with you
without digging too much into the details i'd also grant that it's very likely a significant number of warcrimes have been committed by members of the idf and they should be held to account for those crimes

They are a far-right government that believes that their originally ethnic minority must remain a new ethnic majority and anyone not in that ethnic majority is not considered an equal human with equal rights.

The Arabs were not attempting to destroy Israel. They feared that the Zionists would maintain control, drive them out of their land, and kill them en masse. And that's exactly what happened. Any act of resistance after the fact by Palestinians is just that: Resistance.

Imagine a group of European settlers all rushing into your land and claiming they are the "Chosen people of God" and "God gave us this land". What would anyone's natural reaction to this be? Mine would be: Hey I lived here and parents lived here, and my grandparents. This is my home.

Remember these are the words of the first Prime Minister of Israel "We must expel Arabs and take their place."

Keep in mind even if you argue the land belongs to the original sons of Israel/King David: The Palestinian people and the Lebanese people are more culturally, genetically, and geographically inclined to this than any other group. So even by Zionist logic: which is of course insane and unfair. The people that were expelled were the ones that belonged there by their God and their word.
