I’ve been vaguely following OpenAI drama and Mira Murati / Ilya Sutskever messy departures. Out of all cofounders Sam seems like the hustling evil type, akin to Alex Karp of Palantir.

I feel like Sam is more motivated by personal power he can exert over direction of OpenAI then succes of this technology / profitability. Hence the current outrageous 500bn investment claim.

I’m not an insider by any means and I don’t work in tech. Let me know if you think I’m wrong.

Sam's original stance was sharing profits from openAI with the public. He obviously pivoted from that.

The he went from Democrat to clearly seeing Trump was going to win so donating Trump cash. Presumably the conversation went something along the lines of donate to me and I'll make you rich, very rich, richer than your wildest dreams. Or something like that.

His choices, point being he's just another businessman that would lick the feet of anyone in power and has a position that changes with the political tide.

Wouldn't call the man trustworthy. Hopefully something good comes from it all though.

A server farm of this size will require metric shitton of energy and cooling - probably several nuclear reactors have to be build to power it. Who’s going to fund it? US Debt? Better this I guess than funding another war in the next Fuckaluckistan. can you imagine telling the American people that if there is more smart cameras people will be on there best behavior?

can som1 tell him that's already in place and there is an opposite correlation.

They're installing high resolution cameras everywhere that are all linked.

The sheeple just accept it as normal.
