Democrats clearly still don't get it. And I'm not just talking about one election that they've lost, I'm talking about the comprehensive collapse of their cultural hegemony.

They still fail to see how they have become the illiberal, authoritarian, rigid party; fail to see how they have become the party of and for elites. The failed to see that the past 4 years were characterized by their narratives and policies crumbling in the face of reality, to the point that a majority of Americans now, unlike in 2016, considers the status quo broken - and they still don't realize the extent to which they have become the status quo party. They still don't get that when they say stuff like "we're not going back", their party faithful will cheer, but the median voter instead hears "we refuse to course correct". They still don't understand that perfunctory diversity of superficial traits is no replacement for actual diversity of thought and ideas.
