I'm confused about it being the "Manhattan Project of our time".

A.I is the next thing for world domination ... Why X DID NOT NEED 70% of the workers fired by musk... Guess they plan on using A.I ??

AI being similar to The Manhattan Project I can understand, but invoking it when talking about government oversight is confusing to me.

Government oversight to slow down A.I from dominating us is no longer a thing? We will go for it and hope it safe maybe? lol I guessing... Funny how Musk acts like he warning us about A.I, while going forward with A.I.

Trump gives it away if I reading it right.. To him a smaller government is fire everyone that the A.I can do their jobs more efficiently. And save money that way lol So Basically I see he going put a lot of people out of a job and let A.I do it.. Trumpers see something else? smaller government lol that sounds great to them.. They don't see things like I do I guess? Everything Trump says i see the evil in it ..Trumpers just see the goodness in it ... i don't know is it just me my brain does not work right? or is it them? Going into the future will be interesting to see what will it take for people to wake .. When will the frog decide the water is to hot?

My understanding is that Twitter had a lot of employees that did not produce useful results for the company.

Government Plants
Managers with no accountable results
Coffee Baristas / Other "Feel Good" roles

If X/Twitter really needed these people, how would the company have functioned?

the govt used resources from civilians to quickly develop a bomb to end the war.

civilian insight can help a lot in govt endeavors.

but its not a great metaphor, its just an appeal to a unanimously respected event to try and legitimize this new thing.

This is actually a great outcome... Trump appointed them to some fake agency that has no power and thus Elon and Vivek will be irrelevant in this administration.

They say 50% of all jobs will be taken by A.I in 2025.... figure it out...If this is true a few will have access to this reality before others.. Lots of jobs in our government A.I can do soon..Lots of jobs for a internet company A.I can take over and keep it functioning. Do we even know how far A.I is now surely there is some top secret A.I's by now.. Military contractors have access to them ..Musk has military contracts ..Probably has a top secret Quantum computer A.I or uses google's Quantum computer who knows?

You don't need AI to replace a bunch of useless jobs from old Twitter/X.

AI is an entirely different conversation and I would encourage you to just post a thread discussing that.
There's lots of insight and perspective to be had there, but that's a very different discussion from "Should we make the government more efficient?"
