I'm in favour of controlled migration based on merit.

The vast majority of American "mass shootings" are gang violence. This can be addressed by ending the war on drugs.

Agreed that the war on drugs should end, logically and morally.
But the prison industrial complex, police budget justification and legal system complex will probably never allow this.

Reform of lobbying is needed first.

Private prisons, cops, and lawyers have a right to lobby in their interest, like everyone else. Change should be imposed.

That's the point though. It's in their interests. Not in the interests of a majority of people.

It won't be imposed by politicians lobbied by special interests.

How can you acknowledge mass shootings are almost entirely composed of gang violence where the guns are illegally owned, yet are disingenuous to the point you still use mass shootings as a cudgel to advocate for more gun restrictions.

Probably grew up online and is a reflection of the media outlet he watch like all the others. Whatever these outlet says is the truth. God forbid someone go out and watch how the system work. There's a reason the entertainment industry is where you usually find the highest salaries. Distracting people is a MUST.
