I do love the cope. "He wasn't a plant and even if he was it's fine".
He was in talks to trade an endorsement for a cabinet position, got all his money from the same billionaires that funded Cornell West (another obvious spoiler), Fox pushed him until he started taking from Trump, has been caught colluding with Trump, etc. etc.
This is not one of those "oh well maybe" situations. It's one of those "if you can't see it you are obviously unable to see the insanely obvious".
Then again.... that is kind of what you do. You did open your "why Biden is bad" list with he's bad for fossil fuels when he literally pumped more than any other country in history and actively pressured fossil fuel company to drill more. You don't have a great track record for seeing the obvious.
I didn't say that it'd be fine if he's a plant, I said that he isn't a plant and that run of the mill third party candidates are fine in an open democracy, even if they hurt one side or the other from time to time.
Of course RFK was in talks for a cabinet position, that's why he dropped out and endorsed Trump?! It's really not hard to see what happened here:
When it was Trump/Biden, RFK was pulling roughly evenly from both sides. Polls prove that, so that's not me talking out of my ass, that's a hard fact. He attracted NeverTrump types and disillusioned Democrats in roughly equal proportion.
Once the DNC pulled its little palace coup to remove decrepit Biden and anoint Kamala (in extremely undemocratic fashion, if I may add), the demotivated Dems came home to roost. (They probably would have anyway, even if Biden had stayed in the race.)
At that point, RFK would have been a spoiler candidate against Trump, so Trump bought him off with a cabinet position. Since RFK is old, disowned by his own family, a narcissist and was screwed over by the DNC, he happily obliged.
Similar story with Cornell West: he's clearly a spoiler against Democrats, so Republican strategists and donors will support his campaign. But that's not sufficient to establish that he's a plant. You're violating Hanlon's razor (or some variation thereof) and attribute to malice what can easily be explained by rational self-interest. By the way, I'm very sure that you will also find Democratic donors supporting the Libertarian candidate. This type of fuckery is just how a FPTP voting system works in practice.
