I don't have a problem with tactical voting. If the argument is against disproportionate representation, then that's a problem in almost every representative system, see winner takes all elections in the United States or the recent debacle in the UK. A majority of the French voter base put communists in power. This will go about as well as the first time around, and French public finances are in the late stages of collapse, but they (literally) asked for this.
Debacle? The UK has functional stable governments due to the first past the post system. The transfer of power is seamless.
In contrast France will now enter months of uncertainty and negotiation.
They host the Olympics in 2 weeks and probably won't even have a prime minister
