A lot of the homeless I encounter don’t exactly want to work (or housing to be honest). I’m sure a lot of them want a better life and would take the help, but a good chunk just want to be close to where drugs are cheap and abundant with an absolute disregard for the rest.

Well maybe prison is the best place for those particular people.

They will find a way to buy cheap guns to defend themselves... This is just a matter of time.

Don't have to live in a place to feel compassion for people, otherwise world vision wouldn't have been able to scam me.

I just seem to start having issues with people who don't live and experience how it is in our cities and this part of the world before chiming in and making such bold claims. Its good to reservedly give your opinion and perspective from the other side of the world. But is is honestly kind of odd to claim that you think that you are more right than half of the population here.

The amount of people here, the scale is different. My state has half the population of your entire country. And its only like 1/10th the size of ur country. Your perspective of the scale of impact of these decisions is completely different.

Claiming that people are going to start shooting people on minimum wage? lol. Where i work you can make more than minimum wage on a high school education simply by being able to pass a normal job back ground check and have huge opportunities within 3-5 years for jobs that people start at once they graduate from college while already knowing the business.

Woke people like you ruin their job prospects and do stupid shit while they are young then like... why am i only making minimum wage?!?!?!

Most of this rant is baseless speculation, and I have probably seen more if the USA than you have.
Australia does have a small population but 90% of it is in 5 cities, we have plenty of homeless.

What if we compare:

1. The tax money spent on all things related to the homeless based on current systems and level of need.

v.

2. The tax money that would be spent on providing the level of social services needed to account for the level of need while retaining certain standards and quality commensurate with the reality that we're talking about human beings.

What if option 2 is only a reality if we build them in major cities/towns, including your own?
