I think that as a society we've already acknowledged that it's acceptable to riot over convicted felons.

“Republicans” and “far right extremists” do not represent each other.

Also, Trump isn’t a Republican at all.

They get closer to each other every day.

Trump's been the Republican nominee for president 3 cycles in a row and Republicans who go against him lose their jobs. He's as Republican as it gets. Republican isn't an ideology, it's a political party, so the fact that he's not conservative or a Reaganite doesn't really matter.

I haven't heard any calls to violence from credible Reds at any level. Seems like Blue's are projecting fantasies instead of enjoying their long desired gotcha win.

Also, Trump's majority base is the same population segment that arguably failed US and the younger generation. The opposite of greatest generation, the cherished boomers. History has shown they have done little to leave a better society for the rest. These people won't rally to a call to action beyond responsive drunken angry mob antics. Nothing to fear

On the converse, I'm trying to think if there would have been turmoil if the jury was hung (meaning that the jury could not agree on charges and the case gets shelved).

I don't think protests would have been severe, but there probably would have been a few sketchy instances of violence.

This thread shows there is a lot of unhealthy obsession with politics from people.

It surprises me that after decades of ideological inconsistencies from the major parties people can still get hung up on this simple concept that political parties are affiliations, not ideologies. Republicans are the party of Trump, not the party of small government or lower taxes or isolationism or social regression. Where they land on any issue is ephemeral, who they affiliate with is not.
