I see. Well, I can't say that I know much about Canada and its happenings, but it sounds not dissimilar in some ways to what the US is going through.

Nah, Nova Scotia, which makes it even stranger because nobody comes here for work lol. Far as I can tell the government shifts them around the country to fill in employment gaps by baiting them with PR (permanent residence) points

Not sure what the situation in southern Ontario is but they aren't overlords here, they work the worst jobs and live like 5 people to a 1 bedroom apartment before getting moved to another part of the country because their job suddenly doesn't count towards PR or the amount of points received changes. I've heard Ontario has more issues with foreign property ownership so the situation may be a bit different.

Most annoying aspect to me is the amount of people who just....stand around now. It's weird af lol.

I will add that Hindu people in the lowest caste will work for less then any other person on Earth. They don't want to go back to their villages in Southern India.

The smarter Hindu's will target engineering, finance, education, and the medical field.

If the Canadian government even offers a "temporary work visa" they will consider that the "golden ticket" out of the poverty they've lived in.

As someone whose been to the poorest most remote areas of India. Canada and the US are heaven to them. Even if they're dumpster diving they at least know they won't starve.

Ya, all the Indians that I've worked with work really hard and try to learn the language as quickly as possible. They Integrate fairly well and tend to love hockey. It's simply the amount that's staggering. Our infrastructure simply can't keep up and our socialized Healthcare is falling behind. I remember hearing on the radio that in q3 last year we had 300 000 immigrants and not one new hospital was being built.

Queue the rage when your favourite Tim Hortons becomes a Chai masala place.

They haven't really taken anything, the government imported them en masse to fill employment vacancies largely brought about by their covid policies and the need to have constant "economic growth". I don't need to work for minimum wage so it doesn't affect me in terms of employment but I think it's going to have negative affects on our culture and is exploitative of the people being imported.
