There's only two unavoidable things in life... death and taxes.

Haha my Grandpa would say that a lot. Only two certainties in life. You will die and you will pay taxes along the way :locked:

Taxes are the rent you pay to live in society.

tax is a protection racket that allows criminals to prosper in society

tax takers live far above their means that to them. actual tax means very little its just more to grab. the real money play is borrow borrow borrow. last i looked 33 trillion in debt

Is that an issue of taxation itself, or the way in which taxation is being done?

There is no law in the United States that says we have to pay federal income tax. Yet people still pay it.

It’s not socialism. It’s fascism.

Remember, the fed reserve is not government.

Let's take a trip back to the Boston Tea Party lol. When a 2-3 percent tax on tea became a major catalyst for the American Revolution.

To think Uncle Sam now takes 35% and that's not including a state tax.

We are all wage slaves and physical slavery became mental slavery. Slavery never actually ended it just changed forms. I love when people say we ended slavery.

Working 3 jobs 80 hours a week to end up at the end of the year with little to nothing. Sounds like slavery to me.

Not being able to spend time watching your kids grow up because working 24/7. Sounds like slavery to me.

Glad you brought this up. Can't believe how cucked society has become.

When people bring up "slavery" its' always gotta be about african americans on plantations hundred of years ago. Can't be about Amazon or Apple today.

i've worked blue collar jobs for years. home depot freight, costco business center order picking (the worst one), amazon, and a few others.

equating this stuff to slave labor is just so.. disingenuous. it distorts and downplays the meaning of slavery, not sure why people continue to draw any kind of parallels. i just don't see it. sounds like /r/antiwork buffoonery

our ancestors started revolutions over single digit taxation, now its normal to lose half of your shit before ever laying a hand on it

and the roads are still trash, public schools are trash, services are trash

but the spending goes up along with the number of useless state employees

states seriously need the elon twitter treatment, you can get rid of most bureaucrats and useless spending right now and things work perfectly fine

Tax would feel less like thievery if the representatives used the money to serve the constituents instead of multi-billion dollar corporations or funding programs in foreign countries. I live in US#1 yet we can't afford 5 day public school in all justifications. Paying more for less 2024
