Some states wish to keep their existing programs.

Guess you guys are right we just want child slavery.

Awaiting the gotcha articles about the scary republicans trying to make it easier for minors to get jobs

Here is your "Gotcha"... 1 state.... ONE state has said they have an existing program. The others?

suggested that the state did not need the program, pointing to high rates of childhood obesity as a reason why they should not expand grocery benefits for children.

“Federal COVID-era cash benefit programs are not sustainable and don’t provide long-term solutions for the issues impacting children and families. An EBT card does nothing to promote nutrition at a time when childhood obesity has become an epidemic,” Reynolds said in a statement.

Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen (R) emphasized that his state would not take the extra funds, pointing to already existing summer nutrition programs for children in the state.

Maybe you should read the article?

All states provide lunches to students whose parents cannot afford it. You think it insane to thing places don’t give extra extra (all parents already get more food stamps for their kids) food stamps just because.

I’m sorry, am I incorrect for noticing this is just more free food stamps? Do you know how many people make the conscious decision in the US to not work because it is easier to have the state hand out everything you have? Don’t come at me with that “republicans wish death and poverty in children” bullshit.

This is the United States. Nobody is in poverty. If you are okay with the bare minimum in exchange for more free time, the government will pay you to be a lazy piece of shit.

Y’all so privileged you sit here and say that because somebody disagrees with another free $40 a month they want kids to die or something. Imagine

This would be true is things didn't cost a shitton. Just rent itself is like on average 800-1500 a month on average depending on where u live. if you consider the median income 40k across the board(low, but its probably more true. actual median is just inflated) you'll quickly discover that people generally spend 60-70% of their wealth just having a place to live and necessities to exist in this society.

$100 says you're collecting some kind of Gov't benefit or social benefit.
