But I am talking about geniuses, not successful academics.

Genius defined as “exceptional” intelligence/creativity, yes?

In 2023, this is difficult to objectively measure

The most productive researchers are the ones that can grind it out. Being brilliant doesn't get you far in science anymore.

Agreed. Science in academia is mostly a joke in 2023. There have been no substantive fundamental scientific discoveries for decades and I wouldn't expect any soon - with very sophisticated molecular orbital theory, density functional theory, and particle physics advancement is largely a function of efficient use of computational power.

Entire fields are now largely irrelevant. Synethic chemistry research has devolved into spending years building novel catalysts and hoping they work, akin to throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks. Atmospheric chemistry & physics has become nearly totally corrupted by the climate cult, where the field requires publishing biased and flawed research to push forward the narrative, if you wish to pu list heterodox results you won't get funding, nor will you be published.

However, being a genius still puts you leagues above the rest in the private sector when it comes to finances & applied mathematics. A single mathematical genius can write an algorithm in a few days which invalidates years of work by hundreds of subpar engineers.

What's the point of genius if you do achieve nothing with it. The guy with the world's highest IQ is a college drop out and horse rancher.

You think crispr gene editing wasn't a major fundamental discovery?

What is considered a genius? I would say anybody who makes it to the 1 percentile of their field is a genius, that could be in academia, sports, even drug dealing ect

The point is to design the system so everybody has a chance to be a genius.

Taking my city, the rich part of town has a school that looks like a university campus. It's immaculate.

Then you go in the inner city and it's trash. They barely have books.

Everybody should have a public school like the rich part of town. It will cost more. Your taxes will go up. You will need to raise taxes on the rich people to afford it.

But ya know what? No genius is ever going to lose out on the opportunity to be one. No kid is going to join a gang because the school doesn't care and can't provide an education.

who you going to trust for such a venture? the same people mandate masks, creepy trump juice and open riots in the streets Burning Looting and Murdering.................... no doubt they will be right at the front with taxation

Why do you know so much about all this, Elite? Are you in graduate school.

I do not think so - not until it is shown beyond reasonable doubt to be used safely and successfully on patients. My understanding of statistical mechanics tells me the most probable outcome is that you give the patient cancer.

I was in graduate school, I left with my MSc instead of PhD because of the rot and antisemitism within the university. I'm very happy with my choice too, as you don't actually learn anything new with a PhD and you narrow your career options significantly.

My family is also an academic secular Protestant family (my father is a retired professor)
